Is A ‘Fuzzy Brain’ Better At Solving Cashflow Problems?

Posted by:

As a business psychology specialist this took me by surprise…

According to a study from a recent issue of Thinking & Reasoning, Mareike Wieth, an assistant professor of psychological science at Albion College, and her colleagues divided study participants into morning types and evening types…
Wieth instructed them to solve three analytic problems and three insight-oriented ones to see if they performed better during their ‘optimal’ time of day…

RESULTS:

No time-of-day effect was found for analytic problem solving, but subjects’ performance on tasks requiring creative insight was consistently better during their non-optimal times of day.

IMPLICATIONS:

If you’re an ‘early bird’, save your creative challenges for just before bed. Your least productive time of day may be the perfect opportunity for a moment of insight!…

Wieth explains, “This less focused cognitive (mental) state makes people more susceptible to think about other, seemingly unrelated information—like things they experienced earlier or their to-do list,”.

“This additional information floating around in your mind during your non-optimal time of day ultimately helps you reach that creative aha! moment.”

Grow Business Grow® STRATEGY:
A better way to solve nagging problems, both personal and business ones, is to take quality ‘Green Days’…

A Green Day is a 24hour period of NO business thinking or doing. This distraction allows your brain to work on solutions for you without the stress of having to find the answer straight away…

Your brain will always give you the answer if and only if you let it work without unproductive stress…

Here’s some social proof :
A familiar face walks into the room…they remember your name, but for the life of you can’t remember theirs…

You search for an answer…

The name is on the tip of your tongue (your subconscious knows the answer, but the conscious stress is stopping you from receiving it)…you walk away from that person and then moments later BINGO…their name appears in a flash of the blinding obvious!

Lesson: Take Green Days, they’ll help you become way more creative and make you money.
